Travel Opportunities
See the world. Gain global perspectives on servant leadership.
Students named as Disciples Fellows will have the opportunity to travel abroad at least once during their time in the program as part of a group trip. Additionally, students are encouraged to complete their mentorship experience abroad.
Additional information, including common questions about travel opportunities for Disciples Fellows, can be found below.
What does the Disciples Leadership Program travel trip include?
The DLP travel trip allows students explore and learn for a week-long intensive period in an international city. The DLP program covers roundtrip airfare to our destination, hotel (with breakfast), one or two excursions outside of the main destination city, museum entrances, cultural experiences, and two group dinners. Students are responsible for any additional spending money, as well as additional meals.
What are you doing for the upcoming trip?
We will be spending a week in Madrid, Spain. We plan to tour museums (such as the Prado and Reina Sofia), sightseeing the city and experience Flamenco at the Teatro Real, visit historical monuments and places of worship, while learning about the diverse and complicated religious history of Spain and how religion functions in Spanish society today.
Can students travel abroad as part of their mentorship experience?
Yes! We strongly encourage Reagan Fellows to secure mentorship placements abroad. Students have recently completed mentorships in London and Costa Rica, for example. To learn more about the mentorship process, please click here.
Please direct any questions about travel opportunities to the Director of the Disciples Leadership Program, Dr. Joseph Cunningham. You may do so via email at dlp@eureka.edu or by phone at (309) 467-6331.
